To all of my yogis out there... have you ever really thought about the meaning of "namaste?" We say it at the end of practice, but do we really know what it means? Turns out, I don't know really either! By definition, namaste means: "I honor that place in you where the universe resides, and when I am in that place in me, and you are in that place in you, we are one." It's pretty self-explanatory on the face of the definition, but this could mean a world of things which is why the phrase is so powerful!
Think about it, "that place" could mean something entirely different to you, to me, or to a fellow yogini. But the reason finding the exact definition for "namaste" can be arbitrary, yet so beautiful is because although it is difficult for outsiders to identify "that place" inside you, there is honor for "that place," which brings us together, making us ONE.
What does "namaste" mean to you?
